Amy Smith wins United Way of Weld County $20,000 car voucher



Amy Win 2Amy Smith of Kersey won the United Way of Weld County $20,000 car voucher on Thursday at Texas Roadhouse in Greeley.

Twelve United Way of Weld County donors advanced as finalists for the $20,000 car voucher drawing. Three semifinal drawings were held the past couple of months at the participating car dealerships - Ehrlich, Ghent, Honda of Greeley, John Elway, Greeley Spradley Barr and Weld County Garage, all of whom split the cost of the car voucher.

Smith is employed in the pork transportation department at JBS corporate office in west Greeley. She said she's been donating to United Way of Weld County for the 13 years she's worked for JBS, and is in need of a new car. Amy said she has her eyes on a Nissan Altima, but is still undecided on what vehicle she will purchase. Amy can select a car from any of the six participating dealerships.

Every finalist went home with something. Jan Krause (runnerup) won a $250 Visa gift card, Amy Boren (third) won a $100 Visa gift card. The other nine finalists - Amanda Dunbar, Ken Stumpf, Greg Gidez, Michael Lesiak, Kevin Curry, Bill May, Nathan Rodriguez, Erin Johnson and Pat McNulty-Collins - won $50 Visa gift cards.

In order to be eligible for the drawing, a pledge of $156 or more to the 2014 campaign was worth one entry into each of the three semifinal drawings. A pledge of $364 or more was worth two entries into the three semifinal drawings, and a pledge of $520 or more to the campaign was worth three entries into each drawing.

Week-end Get Away

How does a weekend getaway to Palm Springs sound? Thanks to the generosity of Dick Monfort, we have been able to offer a weekend at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort and Spa in Palm Springs since 1998. This annual incentive is for leadership level gifts of $750 or more. The drawing is held at the Tillers Club Reception in December. For more information contact United Way.

United Way of Weld County will automatically enter leadership givers into all qualifying campaign incentives. United Way Staff, Board of Directors and anyone under the age of 18 are not eligible.
