United Way News
Emily Allen, an accountant at North Range Behavioral Health, was the winner of the United Way of Weld County's $20,000 car voucher incentive at Texas Roadhouse in Greeley on Dec. 20. Allen was one of 10 finalists - Kay and Bruce Broderius, Stuart Kehler, Kim Barbour, Kurt Weaver, Tim Ervin, Steve Rickard, Sylvia Godson and Leslie Gann Exner, Thad Henry and Allen - this year. The five sponsoring car dealerships this year were: Ehrlich Family Dealership, Ghent Chevrolet & Cadillac, Honda of Greeley, John Elway Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram and Weld County Garage. Anyone donating $156 or more to UWWC was eligible to win a $20,000 voucher toward the vehicle of their choice from the aforementioned car dealers.
Allen, 37, of Greeley volunteers on the North Range Behavioral Health employee campaign committee for UWWC, and she believes in what United Way does for the community. "I think they just touch so many people in so many places," Allen said of UWWC. "I think 2-1-1 (information and referral service) is a great thing to have. A lot of people don't know about it, but when they hear about it it's pretty impressive. I think there would be a big hole in the community if we didn't have United Way."
Finalists who placed from fourth to 10th won $100 VISA gift cards, third place won a $250 VISA gift card, the runner-up won a $500 VISA gift card and Allen won the car voucher.
