United Way of Weld County thanks everyone who made Day of Action a success

United Way of Weld County would like to thank the volunteers, sponsors and agencies who made the annual Day of Action on June 18 a success. Two-hundred-fifty people volunteered and worked on 20 projects throughout Weld County including the Greely-Evans area and south of the county in Firestone, Frederick and Fort Lupton.

We want to thank Kimberly-Clark’s Depend brand for its generous sponsorship of $5,000.

A special thank you goes out to these businesses who provided volunteers for the day: Anadarko Petroleum, Anderson & Whitney, Brigit’s Bounty Community Resource, Cache Bank & Trust, Connecting Point, Hensel Phelps, “I Have a Dream” Foundation of Boulder County, Kidz Quiltz, Kohl’s, North Colorado Health Alliance, Professional Finance Company, RLR, LLP, The Greeley Tribune, Weld County Human Services, Weld County Sheriff’s Office, Weld County Youth Conservation Corps and Wells Fargo.

Four local businesses/companies made the day complete through their generous sponsorship. We so appreciate 2 M Printing (T-shirts), Starbucks (coffee), Pepsi Beverages Company (300 water bottles), Corleone’s (300 breakfast burritos) for making the event more enjoyable for the volunteers.

A huge thank you goes out to the agencies that hosted projects including Brigit’s Bounty Community Resource, The Genesis Project, Greeley Area Habitat for Humanity, Greeley Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Greeley-Evans School District 6, The Greeley Stampede, Greeley Transitional House, Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley, Kidz Quiltz, Meals on Wheels Greeley, Right to Read, SEVA Community, Senior Resource Services, Town of Firestone, Turn Around Bikes, Turning Point Center for Youth & Family Development, United Way of Weld County and Weld Food Bank.

This year’s Day of Action was one of our most successful, and it was special to see people supporting their communities.
