United Way of Weld County named Kenny’s Steak House the 2015 Community Partner of the Year during its Mad Hatter’s Ball and 75th anniversary celebration on March 19 at Island Grove Events Center in Greeley.
The award is presented to an organization which makes an outstanding partnership effort with United Way of Weld County. The ideal organization participates in the United Way community campaign, including volunteer, financial and in-kind donations.
Matt Larson, general partner at Kenny’s Steak House in Greeley, said it’s important for Kenny’s - which employs more than 50 full-time and part-time employees - to make an impact in the community because northern Colorado has been very supportive of the restaurant and catering business for the past 21 years.
“Probably the most impactful event for us is Weld Project Connect where we get to see firsthand the impact that United Way has on people in need,” Larson said. “It is a very powerful and moving day and we are so honored to be a part of it. We feel a strong sense of obligation to give back. We also want to be a part of a community that cares about making lives better, and we know that can be accomplished by supporting the United Way of Weld County. We believe people from lower, middle or upper classes see the benefit in what United Way can do to make our community a better place to live.”
