Alicia Loschen won the United Way of Weld County $20,000 car voucher on Dec. 17 at Texas Roadhouse in Greeley.
Eleven United Way of Weld County donors advanced as finalists for the drawing. Three semifinal drawings in October, November and December were held narrowing down the field.
Those participating car dealerships were: Ehrlich Family of Dealerships, Ghent Chevrolet Cadillac, Honda of Greeley, John Elway Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Greeley Spradley Barr Ford and Weld County Garage Buick GMC, all of whom donated toward the cost of the car voucher. Texas Roadhouse provided lunch for those in attendance.
Loschen, a Greeley resident and United Way of Weld County donor for 17 years, works for Banner Health in the clinical education department. She drives 1998 Buick Regal with 127,000 miles and said she is thrilled at the thought of driving a new car. Loschen can select a car from any of the six participating dealerships.
Every finalist went home with something. Kris Howard (runnerup) won a $250 Visa gift card, Meggan Sponsler (third) won a $100 Visa gift card. The other eight finalists - Kevin Arnold, John Batchelor, Rose Chavez, Lynne Culver, Sylvia Dann, Tim Ervin, Linda Schreiber and Ann Stewart - won $50 Visa gift cards.
In order to be eligible for the drawing, a pledge of $156 or more to the 2014 campaign was worth one entry into each of the three semifinal drawings. A pledge of $364 or more was worth two entries into the three semifinal drawings, and a pledge of $520 or more to the campaign was worth three entries into each drawing.
