300 volunteers turn out for United Way of Weld County Day of Action

Weld County KidsThree hundred people volunteered during the United Way of Weld County Day of Action on June 20. The volunteers worked on 21 projects throughout Weld County in the Greely-Evans area and all the way down to Firestone, Frederick, Dacono and Fort Lupton. “This was one of our most successful Day of Actions to date,” said Emma Wood, volunteer engagement coordinator for United Way of Weld County. “We had a great turnout of volunteers across the county. With a county as vast as Weld, it was awesome to see people throughout the county turning out to support their communities.”

Wood, who coordinated the event, said one of her favorite parts of Day of Action is the positivity it encourages. “It’s great to host an event where you look across the crowd and all you see are smiling faces,” Wood said. “Creating an experience that fosters teamwork and togetherness is the ultimate success for a volunteer day, and we did that.”
